Alistair Pirie is a Melbourne (Australian) based Writer and Sculptor.
In his writing he explores two main themes partially drawing on past associations (Experiences) all applied with a strong sense of humor while also introducing environmental or political themes. These are universal themes having relevance for today’s reader no matter where the reader may reside. The themes are explored in his first two books below.
LAST CHANCE MCKENZIE ( A special agent of the PIA)
The story revolves around Last Chance McKenzie a semi retired PIA agent who is called out of retirement by the Head of the PIA intelligence agency to undertake a secret mission deep into China. After a series of sometimes hair raising and at others humorous adventures he succeeds in his mission and is extracted back to the USA ready for his next mission.
BILLYCANS TAIL OF TWO CROCODILES.
This is a Children’s book where an adventurous group of 5 children set off on an adventure in Melbourne. Their journey begins along an underground river complete with crocodiles and other exciting happenings and also journeys back in time. They emerge with a deeper understanding of environmental and other issues facing their world ready for their next adventure

Last Chance McKenzie: Special Agent of the PIA
Last Chance McKenzie a retired agent of the American PIA is called back into service to undertake a dangerous mission deep into China. Before departing he undergoes secret operation restoring his extraordinary athletic powers he had as a young man. These powers are only to be used in an emergency. Inside China he has a series of dangerous adventures which also have a humorous side before being extracted by an American submarine
Billycan’s Tail of Two Crocodiles
Five children meet a mysterious stranger named Peter Billycan, who directs them into a tunnel to discover an underground river system. And this is where the adventures begin…
Descending the tunnel, the group board a ferry boat, captained by a salty old sea dog, where they are swept away on a wild ride. The children witness two crocodiles having a fight. They are afraid at first, but the crocodiles turn out to be friendly and carry them to an Aboriginal camp on the seashore where they meet a small Aboriginal boy fishing from a bark canoe.
